SO TACKY

Kourtney’s vulgar wedding was the flashiest, trashiest Kardashian moment ever

EVEN by the Kardashians’ standards, the wedding of eldest daughter Kourtney to rocker Travis Barker was a spectacle.

In fact, her Italian nuptials this weekend made Katie Price’s 2005 fairytale wedding to Peter Andre look like a no-frills affair.

The carnival of vulgarity featured bizarre funeral-style dresses and a veil depicting the Virgin Mary.

It was hosted by fashion label Dolce & Gabbana, whose head honcho Stefano Gabbana once described the Kardashian clan as “the most cheap people in the world”.

Locals in the quiet fishing village of Portofino, on the Italian Riviera, had surely never seen such an orgy of bad taste and outrageous opulence.

Particularly when the 43-year-old bride arrived in a bum-skimmingly short corset-style dress.

She saved her modesty with a cathedral-length veil, which included religious iconography — in tribute to a tattoo her groom has on his head — and the words “family, loyalty, respect”.

CHUNKY SILVER CHAIN

Her outfit was designed by controversy-hit fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

Clearly conscious of the buzz the wedding would create, the brand even opened a pop-up shop with merchandise on the market square piazza three days before the wedding, which will remain for three months.

A member of D&G’s staff there said of the link to the Kardashians: “They are friends of the house.”

Seemingly so, as the label also lent them their L’Olivetta villa, where the couple made their vows, and are reported to own the £11million superyacht Regina D’Italia, where the whole Kardashian crew holidayed ahead of the big day.

They also ferried guests to the venue on speedboats kitted out with their cushions.

Clearly Kourtney and Co have forgiven Stefano for his “cheap” jibe.

And nor do they seem bothered about scandals surrounding the label in recent years. These include an advert branded racist for showing an Asian woman struggling to eat Italian food with chopsticks, and designer Domenico Dolce’s remarks opposing the adoption of children by gay families. The label apologised for both.

Of course, the big day had to be in Italy, following in the footsteps of the Clooneys and the Timberlakes.

Kourtney’s younger sister, Kim, 41, also chose Italy for her wedding to Kanye West in 2014.

The showbiz world was all aquiver with reports Beyonce had been spotted in the village ahead of the wedding. But aside from Hollywood star Megan Fox and her rapper boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly, if there were other big names, they managed to dodge the cameras.

So too did brother Rob Kardashian, 35, if he was there at all. He missed Kim’s Florence ceremony because he “wasn’t comfortable” with his weight gain.

Mum-of three Kourtney and Blink-182 drummer Travis, 46, who has been married twice before and has a son, daughter and step-daughter, held their reception up the hill from L’Olivetta villa, at Roman fort Castello Brown.

There, guests feasted on pasta made to order and freshly filled sweet cannoli pastries. We probably don’t need to tell you which designers provided the colourful plates.

It was hosted by fashion label Dolce & Gabbana, whose head honcho Stefano Gabbana once described the Kardashian clan as 'the most cheap people in the world'.

In the evening it was time for an outfit change and Kourtney reappeared in a black version of her frock, and Travis peeled off her black garter with his teeth to toss to the crowd.

A video showed the newlyweds smooching to Bill Withers’ Just The Two Of Us, wearing matching white jackets, with the back of Kourtney’s emblazoned with “Mrs Barker”.

Accessorising his with shades and a chunky silver chain, Travis, also led his missus in an end-of-the-night slow dance to Etta James’s At Last.

“This is our song,” bellowed Kourtney as the assembled crowd no doubt quietly prayed she was not going to sing it herself.

Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and Single Ladies also featured on the playlist, which was probably as close to this festival of frivolity as the pop queen was ever likely to get.

Prior to the big day, Kourtney was spotted in a bizarre black veil, a skintight black dress adorned with another picture of the Virgin Mary, and black gloves.

She and Travis are known for their love of gothic and punk fashion, something sister Kim channelled in the black lace outfit she wore in the day before dancing the evening away in a black catsuit with jewelled corset.

Her eldest daughter, North, eight, also wore black. But Kim’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson, could not be there as he was filming his final episode for US show Saturday Night Live.

“Momager” Kris Jenner, 66, brought some romance with a flowing pastel pink gown covered in feathers, while middle daughter Khloe, 37, opted for an eye-catching gold crown-like tiara.

Travis’s son, Landon, 18, brought the bling with a diamond-encrusted black suit. His sister Alabama, 16, was also present, along with Travis’s step-daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 23, both of whom wore bodycon bridesmaid dresses decorated with red roses.

Kourtney’s daughter, Penelope, nine, sporting red hair, wore a matching tulle dress. Her brothers Mason, 12, and Reign, seven, were also there, but their father, Scott Disick, was not.

Kourtney said previously she adores her blended family, adding: “The more kids, the merrier.”

Red roses featured everywhere, from the bridesmaid dresses to each place setting — and there was a scattering of petals at the base of the four-tier cake.

UNTIL THE SMALL HOURS

Kourtney and Travis had been friends for years, although he initially admitted he had a crush on Kim.

He appeared on episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and rumours he and Kourtney were dating first started swirling in 2018.

But it was not until January 2021 that they confirmed their romance.

Kourtney, who was with Scott for nine years, said: “I was definitely always attracted to Travis. I think it was just the right time in my life.” They got engaged in October and in April they appeared to tie the knot in Las Vegas following the Grammys.

Kourtney later clarified it was not a legally binding ceremony, adding: “Practice makes perfect.” Then on May 15, the pair exchanged vows for real at a low-key ceremony in California.

This latest celebration went on until the small hours, with DJ Cassidy on the decks until 3am. He played tunes such as Blink-182’s All The Small Things and Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and at one point handed a microphone to Machine Gun Kelly to sing his hit, Bloody Valentine.

And the celebrations are not over yet. The couple are reportedly planning yet another party, in Los Angeles, for all those who could not make their Italian bash.

Offers for fashion label support will no doubt be invited soon.
